Hello everyone and welcome to my new website.
My name is Heide AW Kaminski and the AW is my trademark. It stands for Annemarie-Wyse, which is my original maiden name hyphenated with my ex-husband's last name. I kept that so I would somewhat have the same name as my children.
Then I realized that my initials spell HAWK, so I adopted that as my spirit name. I see myself as a majestic bird soaring the infinite skies...
I live in a small town in SE Michigan, but I am originally from Germany. My first encounter with the USA was in 1976, when I ventured across the ocean to be an exchange student for a year.
My family was so cool that we stayed closely connected. On one of my follow-up visits with a six months visa I ended up getting married to an American and I stayed. I got divorced since then and remarried and divorced again… Sigh (I am more writer material than marriage material, I guess…) Now I have three children, Sarah (born 1986), Angela (born 1989) and Tommy (born 1998).
I have been a writer ever since I learned how to manouver a crayon across paper.
My first paying writing job was writing poetry for two competing aunts. They competed over who paid me more for my poems and being a greedy person I took advantage of that for several years!
Then I bought myself a beat-up old type writer at age 13 and taught myself the 10-finger-system.
To make a long career short, I am currently the published author of three print books. One is being reworked as a bilingual book (German/English) and you can view it at www.rainerbrem.de
and then proceed to "buch illustrationen.”
I have also been published in 15+ anthologies and I have been moonlighting as a newspaper reporter/photographer since 2000.
The novel “The Search For The Million$$$ Ghost” was co-written by myself and my two friends Dorothy Thompson and Pam Lawniczak. Just hop on over to the website to read details about it. The link is
